The Curtain – the first European venture from New York hotelier  Michael  Achenbaum  –  Is  now  open.  The  doors to this hotly anticipated hotel and members club opened alongside top US chef Marcus Samuelsson’s iconic Red Rooster restaurant.

Located on  Curtain  Road  in  Shoreditch,  The  Curtain features 120 luxurious guestrooms and suites, a restaurant and taqueria from chef Marcus Samuelsson, drinks from cocktail specialists Trash Tiki, a rooftop brassiere & pool (LIDO), live music venue and several dynamic members areas.


The Curtain’s members club is a place to work, network, play, learn and explore, with all the tools in place for both professional encounters and for times when work needs to take a back seat. For hotel guests The Curtain offers four different guestroom categories as well as suites, with its sleek interiors and bursts of Shoreditch character, offering the best of luxury hospitality infused with the fun and dynamism of creative east London.


The Curtain have also partnered with The Vault Gym, who has designed the hotel and club’s 24-hour fitness centre. The gym offers guests personalised training and a wide variety of classes including early morning BOOM Cycle classes  and  yoga.


Red Rooster, which is open to all, is The Curtain’s flagship restaurant  and  live  music  venue.    From  acclaimed  chef and restauranteur Marcus Samuelsson, it offers American comfort  food  classics,  with  live  music  in  the  space  six days a week. And adjacent to the restaurant will be

Tienda Roosteria, a taqueria open all day to relax in,    sip margaritas and share a few tacos as well as a short Mexican-inspired breakfast menu and a concise list of tacos served all day every day.


The Lido is the rooftop brasserie and Moroccan-style  pool and is a plant-filled haven for hotel guests and club members. The menu features light and seasonal dishes, as well as fresh seafood platters and plenty of oysters. There is also an extensive wine list with lots available by the glass. Guests can lounge on sunbeds with the skyline of Shoreditch as a backdrop during the summer months, while the retractable glass roof means that guests can make use of the heated pool throughout the year.

It’s Member’s Club with LP (the live performance space), Billy’s Bar and Imperial offers the best of day and night   time hospitality and entertainment from 7am – 2am daily. The clubs membership is for professionals with creative sensibilities and creatives looking for a non-stifling place to network  and socialise.


The Curtain is also set up for private events, with The Ballroom holding up to  200  people  seated  and  350 standing, with state of the art systems, bespoke menus and a dedicated event planner. There’s also a private room at Red Rooster Shoreditch (seating up to 14) and a 40 seat, lounge-style Screening Room, designed for movie nights, exclusive previews, presentations and events.
